LEGAL STRUGGLES
Many of Saheli’s campaigns against violence on women have involved engaging with the law. From family/inheritance laws to sati, rape, sexual harassment at the workplace to communal violence to the use of draconian laws like the AFSPA and UAPA by the state, our involvements with each have been varied. ranged from handling cases, protesting, writing on the issue to participating in evolving better legal provisions to address the issues. We have written extensively on these processes and a flavour of it will be apparent here.
